В сожалении очень легко завязнуть
Знаете, какой вопрос мне задают чаще всего с тех пор, как в начале нулевых я завела жж? Декорации меняются, отношения заканчиваются, проекты завершаются, решения принимаются, а читателей моих продолжает интересовать: «А тебе не жалко?»

А тебе не жалко продавать квартиру, в которую ты столько вложила?
Ты не жалеешь, что закрыла магазин?
Сожалеешь о каких-то вещах, от которых избавилась в процессе эксперимента #365thingsless?
Как жаль, вы были такой красивой парой!
Не боишься, что будешь жалеть?
Каждый раз меня этот вопрос приводит в недоумение. Будто гипотетическое сожаление можно поставить во главу угла и принимать серьезные решения исходя из этого чувства. Будто возможное сожаление само по себе может стать сдерживающим фактором, а то и склеить разбитое и воскресить умершее. Будто это «жалко» хоть чего-то стоит вообще.

По-настоящему жалко мне было бы не сдвинуться. Не переехать от родителей, не попробовать себя в десятке-другом разных работ (от курьера до директора по развитию дома еврейской культуры, от флориста до координатора программ Йельского университета, от преподавателя русского как иностранного до владелицы магазина игрушек), не оставить душную кафедру, где меня просили не улыбаться, не пойти ни за одной из своих мечт, не узнать, что ждёт за каждым из поворотов, не заплатить за всё это с лихвой.

Есть ощущение, что в сожалении очень легко завязнуть. Говорят, оно даже приводит к тревожным расстройствам и депрессиям. Такое тягучее, желеобразное, нединамичное состояние, будто удерживающее от всякого нового действия.

То ли дело горевание и празднование! Думаю, именно они помогают мне не увязать в сожалении. В этих процессах много чувств, которые сменяют друг друга, помогают назвать, осознать и присвоить бесценный жизненный опыт, а так же ощутить глубокую светлую благодарность за него.

Где есть опыт и благодарность, там сожаление исчерпано. Согласны?

Словарь говорит: «Утрата — потеря, ущерб, урон преимущ. о чьей-н. смерти». Я долгое время относилась к утрате именно так, утрата — это что-то скорбное, трагическое, неизбежное, но всё-таки довольно редкое.
Такая утрата произошла со мной и со всей нашей семьёй 11 лет назад, когда погибла моя мама, в результате ДТП её сбила машина перед окнами нашего дома, а через несколько дней она скончалась в реанимации. Мне было 22 года, сейчас можно сказать, что именно с этой страшной необратимой утраты началось моё взросление. Самое страшное уже случилось, и всё, что мне остаётся, учиться жить с этим.

Я проживала траур. Не формальный, с чёрными одеждами и отменой увеселений. Траур как время, отведенное на проживание горя. Я не знала, сколько мне понадобится, но прочитала у Кюблер-Росс, что даже в самых жутких случаях стадии проживания горя не длятся больше 7 лет. И дала себе время. Время на то, чтобы плакать, вспоминать, писать, пересматривать фотографии, говорить, задавать вопросы. Время на то, чтобы не прикасаться к её вещам. Время на то, чтобы бережно разбирать эти вещи. Время на бездействие и осознанное откладывание перемен. Время на отрицание, гнев, торг и депрессию. Время на принятие, благодарность, отделение и завершение отношений за нас обеих.

Время само по себе не особо лечит. У психики такие возможности для заморозки невыносимых переживаний, что иногда и за всю жизнь не разморозишь. Но когда есть время, ритуально выделенное именно для этих невыносимых чувств (а траур именно такое время), то есть и разрешение их замечать, называть, проливать слезами, использовать любые возможности для того, чтобы их отпустить.

И отпускает. Возвращается радость, желания, восторг — настоящие, не покрытые пеленой печали, не в полсилы. Сначала на мгновения, потом на денёк, а потом лишь изредка ускользают.

Горевание не длится вечно, оно заканчивается. Ему нужно только время и честное присутствие. Возможно, ещё и присутствие психотерапевта.
Любая перемена — это утрата
Думаю, из-за того, что мы понимаем утрату так узко (трагическое событие, обычно смерть близкого человека), мы страшно боимся утрат, избегаем их, и не замечаем довольно многих других происходящих с нами событий, стоящих горевания.

Как по мне, любая значимая перемена в жизни — это отчасти утрата.

Переезд — утрата привычного дома
Расставание — утрата важных отношений и многого с ними связанного
Беременность — утрата своей телесной целостности и скорая утрата себя не_мамы
Взросление ребёнка — утрата родительского влияния, тесной связи
Новые отношения — утрата полной отдельности, уединенного бытия
Уход с работы — утрата круга коллег, часто профессиональной идентичности
Новая деятельность — утрата праздности, привычного расписания

Конец дружбы, объявление режима самоизоляции, снятие режима самоизоляции, запуск проекта, завершение проекта, ремонт в квартире, путешествие, возвращение из путешествия, медицинский диагноз, семейный конфликт и многое другое — это утрата стабильности, прежнего образа жизни, связанных с ним ритуалов, лелеемых иллюзий, накопленных надежд и планов.

И мне нравится замечать этот компонент утраты, объединяющий самые разные жизненные события. Раз за разом проживая чувства, связанные с утратами, я накопила довольно много такого опыта, что, кажется, потеряла страх перед новыми. Не огрубела, не перестала замечать боль, где-то даже наоборот, стала видеть больше оттенков, различать стадии и поддерживать себя тем, что я теперь точно знаю — честно прожитое, горе проходит. Наверно, это не универсальный рецепт, но этот опыт горевания, как когда-то опыт, скажем, безответной любви, наполняет и украшает мою жизнь особым замысловатым образом.

Как так получается, что мы доживаем до взрослого возраста, так и не умея проживать утраты? Взрослым бывают невыносимы наши слёзы и наши чувства. Их главная задача: прекратить, а то и предотвратить вот это невыносимое, в чём они и себя не умеют принять и поддержать. Поэтому частенько детей не берут на похороны родственников, держат втайне семейные события и не объясняют происходящих перемен, мгновенно заменяют потерянную игрушку новой, смеются над слезами «по пустякам», отвлекают внимание, ну и, конечно, суют своё спасительное поспешное «а зато!»

В итоге непролитые слёзы и невысказанный гнев застревают где-то внутри, прорываясь «внезапными» вспышками агрессии «без причины», печалью во взгляде и всякими хроническими сожалениями и недовольствами.

А ведь дети в отличие от взрослых, кажется, не склонны упиваться горем, они проживают его быстро, телесно, ярко, а потом воспрявшие духом, часто с еще не высохшими слезами бегут играть дальше.

Меня поразил наш с Ташей недавний разговор. Я заранее делилась с ней мыслями о продаже квартиры, а в тот день сообщила:

— Знаешь, Ташунь, я приняла решение продать квартиру и повесила объявление в интернете.
— Ой, — сказала она и сразу горько заплакала. Я молча её обнимала. Через минуту она отстранилась от меня и говорит:
— Я никуда не поеду, останусь тут жить!
— Тебе бы не хотелось расставаться со своей комнатой? Ты к ней только недавно привыкла?
— ДА! — смотрит на меня зло, начинает шипеть и угрожающе поднимать надо мной тигриные когти.
— Злишься на меня?
— Злюсь! — продолжает рычать, — Одна переезжай, а я буду сама здесь жить!
— Вряд ли это получится.
— Мамочка, ну я же так люблю свою комнату, свою кроватку, свои игрушки! Я буду по всему этому скучать.
— Я тебе обещаю, что мы из твоей комнаты всё-превсё заберём!
— И люстру с ушками?
— Да!
— А в новой квартире, всё так же расставим, ладно? Так очень удобно! Ну всё, мне пора.

И побежала рисовать план, чтобы не забыть, как у неё всё в комнате расставлено. А потом заигралась в переезд с игрушками.

В одном разговоре за несколько минут сменилось столько чувств, фактически все стадии принятия горя (отрицание-злость-торг-депрессия-принятие). Я им просто не мешала, и не примешивала свои, увидела их и засвидетельствовала. Она их проживала очень подвижно, то угрожая мне кулаками, то застывая, глядя вдаль, то прижимаясь, то отдаляясь. А прожив, тут же придумала для себя способ справляться.

У меня был запасены козыри — в новую квартиру сможем завести котёнка, а на даче построим дом на дереве. Но меньше всего я хотела их использовать в качестве «а зато». Они куда больше порадовали её на следующий день, когда она уже делилась со мной мечтами и планами о том, как она представляет новый дом!

Я знаю, что мы ещё не раз вернёмся к гореванию по этой квартире, мы иногда и прошлую вспоминаем с грустью. Мы обязательно будем вместе собирать вещи, а потом ещё придём отдельно напоследок с ней попрощаться. И чем больше мы проговорим, прочувствуем, назовём, «зарисуем», тем меньше в этом останется смутного сожаления.
Утрата отношений
Я немало думаю и о таком виде утрат, как утрата отношений. То есть утрата человека в качестве партнера, утрата близости и совместности. Ведь отношения, даже необязательно созависимые, многое перепрошивают. Вот мы познали близость, а потом по тем или иным причинам утратили её. Пробовали меняться, пытались вернуть, и через время встретились с тем, что нам совсем в разные стороны. Так происходит.

Кому-то удаётся разорвать отношения решительно и быстро: никаких пересечений, удаление контактов, соцсетей, всех вещей, напоминающих о человеке, «с глаз долой, из сердца вон». Кто-то не соглашается с решением другого, надеется на воскрешение чувств. Кто-то мгновенно находит нового партнера, будто почти ничего и не изменилось. Кому-то необходимо обесценить прошлое, чтобы двинуться дальше, кто-то скорее обесценит настоящее, в котором нет «былой любви». Вариантов много.

И в этом смысле расставание, в котором замешаны, скажем, дети, да ещё и с желанием остаться в нормальных отношениях — задача со звездочкой. Единовременный внезапный разрыв заменяется долгим и болезненным протяженным периодом постепенного отдаления, полного микроразрывов.

Вот, понятно, что вас больше не тянет целоваться
Вот, вы уже не спите на одной кровати
Вот, уже не хочется оставаться в одном доме
Вот вы вынуждены сообщить семье и выдержать их непереваренные первые реакции
Вот, он уходит с вещами в свежеснятую квартиру (а ты остаёшься в той, когда-то общей, выть в подушку)
Вот вы оба регистрируетесь в Тиндере, ещё не в поисках новых отношений, а будто только для того, чтобы утешиться и убедиться — вот оно, где-то есть изобилие потенциальных партнеров
Вот становится ясно, что он больше не один, а тебя муляет от того, кто она, какая, какой он с ней
Вот ваш ребёнок впервые знакомится с «папиной подругой», а потом со следующей
Вот они впервые едут в путешествие вдвоём
Вот они женятся, до тебя долетают новости о свадебных хлопотах, количестве слоёв на платье, фотки улыбок и поцелуев…
Вы оба продолжаете жить себя, меняясь существенно быстрее, чем вместе. И ясно, что встреться вы сегодня впервые, вы разошлись бы, недоуменно подняв брови. Но встретились вы давно и большой кусок пути прошли почему-то вместе, и тонкие ниточки вашей связи ещё не все перетёрты. И поднывает, и изредка, как заденешь, резко и пронзительно болит.

Сколько бы все вокруг не твердили «быть выше этого», «забыть», «забить», «переключиться», «не брать в голову», я за то, чтобы не избегать этой боли, дать ей время, исследовать одно за другим свои хронически больные места, говорить и быть увиденными в этом. Я верю, что можно подружиться с ней, проживать и изживать свои утраты, уточнять своё подходящее и в конечном счёте — ценить — и всё прошедшее, и новые выборы, и то живое, что прорастает и радует.
