Сегодня где-то празднуют День Благодарения, и у меня созрела история как раз о благодарности. И о поддержке. Грустная, но светлая история. Три недели назад я была на похоронах своей троюродной тёти Лены. Мы мало общались последние годы, и это тот печальный случай, когда понимаешь, КАК ты благодарен человеку, когда его уже нет.
Тётя Лена — мама моего четвероюродного брата-ровесника Шурика(да, такая большая у нас семья), и когда нам было по 11-12 лет, мои бабушка и дедушка купили дачу на соседнем с ними участке. Были ли в нашей деревне другие дети? Определенно были. Я видела их из окна машины, они общались с моим братом и визжали на всё озеро, когда купались. Но был упущен тот первый момент, когда я могла с ними запросто познакомиться, то ли смелости не хватило просто выйти и представиться, то ли случай не подворачивался…
А потом началась своеобразная игра, в которой я оказалась аутсайдером, загадочной молчаливой девочкой на особом положении, с которой было не познакомиться, но которой отчаянно не хватало общения со сверстниками. Большую часть лета я читала книги, готовила еду для дедушки и нескольких строителей, которые то достраивали дом, то ставили баню, то беседку, то парник. Пошло уже второе лето моего добровольного отшельничества, когда я узнала, что мальчишки во главе с моим братом, которому папа выделил целый штабель досок, строят шалаш. Даже не шалаш, а целый дом, как потом выяснилось.
Тут я не могу не процитировать чудесное стихотворение из детской книжки Веры Полозковой, потому что оно про тот шалаш:
это не прихоть, это не блажь:
это неделю мы строим шалаш.
стульчик, сундук и над входом подкова.
взрослого не поместить никакого.
будет топчан, умывальник, очаг.
мы станем ужинать тут при свечах.
здесь от мышей мы подвесили гречку.
здесь сапоги, чтобы бегать на речку.
тут будем прятать тетрадь для стихов.
спать после сумерек. до петухов.
в этой кастрюле мы сварим похлёбку.
это учебник, его на растопку.
здесь я картошки запас для костра.
здесь мы поселимся: я и сестра.
мы объявили друзьям и соседям,
что послезавтра сюда переедем.
лес, земляника, свобода и труд.
взрослые вряд ли сюда доорут.
камень отыщем, чтоб гвоздиком высечь:
«взрослому штраф сто четырнадцать тысяч!»
чтобы мы ноги держали в тепле,
пусть нам носки оставляют в дупле.
рядом два ящика выставить надо:
два. «для печенья»
и «для шоколада».

Когда шалаш был построен, конечно, мальчишки позвали девчонок, все они ходили мимо нашего дома, я смотрела на них из окна, изо всех сил держа максимально равнодушное и отрешенное выражение лица. И вдруг ко мне зашла Лена и говорит: «Пойдём!»
Трудно описать всю гамму чувств, которую я испытала в тот момент, бог свидетель, я сопротивлялась. Я отнекивалась, притворялась занятой важными делами, я не хотела идти. Мне было совершенно ясно, что глупее, чем прийти знакомиться с ребятами-подростками за руку с чужой мамой – бред, что это лучший способ завоевать себе совсем не ту репутацию, стать жертвой насмешек, презрительного отношения и чего угодно ещё. Лене это тоже было понятно, но ещё она знала, что у меня впереди целое лето и от того, смогу ли я перебороть свой страх и пойти на эту встречу, зависело то, как я проведу это лето, и, может, даже больше – каким человеком я буду считать себя в течении всего подросткового возраста. Нам обеим было неловко, но мы обе понимали, что пора.
И она молча протянула мне руку.
Мы шли (метров 300 по траве), казалось, целую вечность, даже сейчас, когда я пишу это, у меня всё сжимается внутри от того страха, который меня сковал, и у меня льются слёзы, когда я вспоминаю эту девочку, которой так важно было оказаться принятой. Лена просто подвела меня к ребятам, сказала: «Это Аня, знакомьтесь», – и пошла назад к дому, возможно, села покурить на крыльце, глядя вдаль. А я осталась. И не было больше неловкости, не было страха, нужно было только запомнить, как кого зовут, кто где живёт и выяснить, как у них принято веселиться.
Пожалуй, у меня остался статус немного странной девочки, но это было только на пользу. Меня катали на мопедах, не дразнили, а на следующее лето, оказалось, что я даже разбила сердце одному парню постарше, но это уже другая история.
Не каждый шаг можно сделать самому. Часто нас отделяет от того, чего мы действительно хотим, буквально этот шаг, сделать который мы можем только за руку с кем-то. Так ли важно спустя 16 лет, было ли мне неловко, страшно и чувствовала ли я себя глупо? Нет, правда. Мне важно, что у меня есть опыт прохождения этого препятствия. Важно знать, что протянутая с добрым сердцем рука помощи может изменить многое (пусть не жизнь, но лето точно!) И это невероятно подкрепило доверие к миру.
Меня иногда спрашивают, как у меня берётся смелость на те или иные поступки. Смелость? Да нет, откуда?! Просто когда мне предстоит шаг, который страшно сделать в одиночку, когда никто не торопится протянуть мне руку, и я иду наугад, я становлюсь чрезвычайно внимательна. Как будто уже знаю, что искать, поддержка где-то есть. Это может быть книга, статья, разговор, учёба, массаж или другое «случайное» событие. Когда тяжело на душе, холодно и почти безнадёжно, самое время вспомнить, что мы не одни и попросить о поддержке. В каком бы виде она не пришла, это рука самого Бога.
И если заглянуть внутрь, там море благодарности к каждому, кто был добр к нам на пути. Спасибо!
